From the first time I saw you
I fell in love with you.
From that day on every time I see you
My heart beats faster and faster
Well just by seeing you makes me happy.
You are not like the others
There is something in you that stands out
So much that I just can’t stop thinking about you.
You are like the air I breathe
That without you I can’t live
You are the reasons for my deep sighs.
I feel the necessity to talk to you
If I don’t I swear ill go crazy.
I’ve never felt this way before
It’s something magical so marvelous unexplainable
That not even words can explain how I feel about you.
But I’ll wait for that moment
When he looks at me and then I’ll tell him how I truly feel about him.

This poem that I wrote is about a guy that I’ve seen from far away. From the first time I saw him I felt a funny feeling in my stomach…butterflies…And from there on I can’t stop thinking about him…All I hope is for him to look at me for once so I can tell him how I
feel about him. This is what this poem is about.

Once again it is the time of the year when we celebrate the Virgin Mary. You ask why we celebrate her on the month of December. Well we celebrate her in December as a giving thanks to her for giving birth to baby Jesus. Threw the month of December there is various masses in which they pray and sing to her. People take her lots of flowers and place them on her altar. There is also a group of people which dance for he. They are called the Danza. They usually dress in huaraches; they have this kind of costume that has lots of bells on it so that when they move they make music. They also wear a cap in their heads which is filled with colorful feathers on top. Then as they move around they shake the maracas that are held in their hands. They dance to the beat of the drums. There are different groups that include adults, men, women, and teenagers individually and mixed together. This year there were three different groups. The first group was mixed with men and women of all ages. The second group had only women and the third group was pure men. I really love attending this event every year, I just love seen them dance. Ever since I was little I wanted to join such a group like this but I never really went for it. My best friend, Alberto has been doing this since he was little. Next year for sure I will be joining them and finally fulfilling my dream of dancing for the Virgin Mary.

Eco Fest was a great experience not just for me but for my whole fellow classmates. I really enjoyed this event. It was amazing; I did not expect it to be this way. I have to say at first I wasn’t really feeling this whole thing, I did not really want to be a part of it. But I have to say that I loved it, and that I would do it again if I had the chance. It was really fun to bong with everybody in the class. It was also interesting to see the tables that we had. It thought it was really interesting the booth in which my fellow classmates had. They had the booth which promotes that one should love oneself to be able to love what is around us. They had great tips in ways to love one and how to be healthier. I was so excited as well to see Mrs. Gwendolyn’s bike in person. It looks really cool in person. I think what we all had fun was the Dj. We got to hear some great music not to mention that people, like Yesenia, started to dance, which was fun and funny. I’ve never had this much fun in a class especially in an English class. But we just didn’t have fun I learned many ways to help Mother Nature. Also how it is important that everyone should get involve. Saving mother earth can be as fun as riding a bike. So we should all get put there and start to make changes. I think that this event made us all closer to one another, which is awesome because usually when one sees a person from a class we won’t talk to them outside of class. But it feels different in this class it’s like we are one big family. I enjoy my fellow classmates and hope to see them in the future. Thank you Eco fest and thank you Mrs. Gwendolyn for such a great experience. Not only did I learn to appreciate mother earth but to appreciate having good fellow classmates.

I heard this event from one of my friends that is currently in Ventura College’s M.E.Ch.A club. This event was mainly to inform people of the Oaxaca people or also known as the Jarochos de Veracruz. These people keep their cultures and pass on their traditions threw music. They write songs in which they express things such as their ancestors, their history and what they believe in. They also use their songs to get people to be aware of what is going on. There songs include messages politically and it talks about their government as well. It’s an amazing way to fight in what they believe in without using any sort of violence. I think that it is also beautiful in the way that they approach their people into informing them about the past. I like attending this event because I got a taste of someone else’s culture and way of living. It’s nice to know that other people want to share their cultures with others.

I attended David’s play the day that it first opened, it was the dress rehearsal. I was excited to see it because I her David talking about it all the time. How he was exited and he could not wait for it. Well that made me exited as well, I wanted to see how it would be. I started asking myself if it would be funny, sad, give a life experience. I really like all of the little scenes. I was a little late when it started so I missed the first skit. The second I found enjoyable because it was a skit where there was an interaction with a student and her teacher. The students never did her work and she was expecting the teacher to pass her. The teacher told her that she would pass her if she would prove her that she had actually read the material. When it came to the final, the student had the exam booklet empty except the last page. Where she wrote something it was a quote. Then there as the teacher read the quote she had seen that the student indeed had understood the material.
The third skit was all right. It was about this doctor who had barely lost a beloved one. As for that he was feeling gloomy and down. He usually was the funniest doctor there was. What I liked about that skit was that one of the patients helps the doctor. Instead of the doctor helping the patient, the patient made the doctor feel much better.
As for the skit where David: was the one which enjoyed the most. It was really funny. All of the people there acted really well. It reminded me back in the old days kind of like the movie hairspray. There costumes were really creative and well fitted to the scene. Overall I enjoyed the whole play.

Today is El Dia De Los Muertos (The Day Of the Dead), A Mexican tradition in which we commemorate our beloved ones that have passed away. In Mexico, people go to cemetaries and bring food to the graves of their beloved ones. It is said that on that day the dead come to live. they come and visit us and there spirits are around. the food that is given is said for them to attract their spirits to come.
During my senior year in high school. I was in a club called M.E.Ch.A.
For El Dia De Los Muertos we made an altar (altar). It was difficult because we had some obstacles with people. They were against it because they said that it was a religious thing and that it could not be brought in school. But we didnt give up and we made it..
Here are a few pictures of it:

Its My Favorite time of the year!
This year it was awsome!
On Friday (30th) i went to a party with my friends which was so much fun.
But before we went to the party we went to target.
We felt weird because people were staring at us because of our costumes.
Anyways the party was fun.
We danced until we hit the floor..lol
Then on Saturday, me and one of my friends volunteered at a senior citizen care center.
It was really fun, we spent sometime with them and helped make a Haunted house.
Then after the whole family aunts and uncles cousins got together.
We had a Barbecue, went trick or treating and gave candy to kids.
It was a very good Halloween..
Too bad it is all over now..
Until next year..Halloween =)
